How to Fix Steam Download Stuck With 0 Bytes Issue

Steam is one of the most popular distribution platforms for digital video games, allowing subscribers to buy and download their favorite computer games directly to their computer. This is a convenient way to get games, compared to visiting a physical store and getting a copy of the game. Although it’s a pretty solid platform, there are times when there are some problems that we are going to solve today. In this last article in our series of bug fixes, we will look at the problem of loading a few bugs stuck at 0 bytes.

How to set steam to 0 byteProduction

Before following the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular problem, I recommend that you first try restarting your computer. This way you can update your operating system, remove damaged temporary data and solve most software problems quite efficiently.

Several factors can cause this particular problem, from corrupted cache data to DNS configuration problems. The following measures are recommended to solve this problem.

Activation of automatic detection parameters

  • Open your Chrome browser and click on the Chrome menu (top right) when you open it.
  • When the cancellation message is displayed, press the Settings button.
  • After opening the settings page, enter a proxy in the above dialog box.
  • In the search results, select the result that says the proxy server settings should be opened.
  • When you open the settings, click on the LAN Settings tab at the bottom of the Connections tab.
  • Clear the Automatically detect settings check box. Save the changes and exit the program, then restart Steam.

Check if there is still a problem with the steam download.

Checking the use of the reader

If your drive is copying another file, the Steam Process may be paused because it is waiting for the current job to complete.

  • Press Windows + R to enter Task Manager.
  • Click the Process tab and check the percentage of disk usage. If it is not complete, i.e. 100%, it means that the problem is something else and that you can continue with the problems.
  • When use is complete, you can see which program is causing the problem. Usually, Windows updates consume a lot of RAM and disk space for recording. We can take them out of the service option to reduce their consumption.
  • Click the Windows + R button and enter services.mscin the dialog box.
  • This opens a window that contains all the services that run or are running in your Windows. See where you can see the Windows Update service. When Windows Update consumes the majority of your resources, it means it is turned on and running.
  • Click on the service and you will be redirected to its properties. First stop the service with the option.
  • Once you have stopped, click on the Startup Type option. From the drop-down list, touch Disabled. Save the changes and disappear.
